This year, Romano Orru and Eelco Ruijter will chair the 27th European Colloquium on Heterocyclic Chemistry (ECHC)
The ECHC will take place in Amsterdam from July 3 to 6, 2016 in “De Beurs van Berlage”
The ECHC is an open meeting dealing with all aspects of heterocyclic chemistry with mainly, but certainly not only, European speakers and participants from academia and industry. The aim of the meeting is to present new results, stimulate interactions between academia and industry and create an atmosphere for establishing networks, useful also for young chemists.
The scientific program will include 24 plenary/invited lectures and many oral communications selected from submitted abstracts, as well as poster communications.
Amsterdam is one of the greatest small cities in the world. From Amsterdam canals to world-famous Amsterdam museums and historical Amsterdam sights, it is one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe. Canal cruises are a popular way to see the city from the perspective of its canals.
Amsterdam is also a city of tolerance and diversity. It has all the advantages of a big city: rich culture, lively Amsterdam nightlife, international restaurants, good transport – but is quiet, and largely thanks to its extensive canals, has a little road traffic.
The Beurs van Berlage (picture on the right) – Amsterdam’s former commodities exchange – is one of the defining monuments of the Dutch capital. With 25 rooms, including one of the largest assembly halls in central Amsterdam, ample parking facilities and a wealth of hotels nearby to choose from, the Beurs van Berlage is one of the Netherlands’ top venues for events and conferences
